Messier 13 - The Great Hercules Globular Cluster

"He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names."

Psalms 147:4 KJV

Located ~25,000 Light years from Earth over 100,000 stars are concentrated in the constellation Hercules. Originally discovered by Edmond Halley in 1714. Charles Messier added it to his famous Messier Catalogue in 1764 thinking that it was simply a nebulous object. The stars of the Hercules Cluster were first resolved in 1779.
